Q: How does AFSB work?

A: AFSB offers this service via a dynamic, state of the art, database. Think of AFSB as a large hotel. Your firm has a room in the hotel. In that room, you can change the wallpaper, re-arrange the furniture, and add a wonderful waiting area. While the content in the room is yours to use, access to all the amenities in the hotel is available for your use as well. In other words, AFSB does all the programming, incorporates profession-specific tools, handles all the maintenance, and you have access to all of the tools without the hassle or cost of developing and maintaining it yourself.

Q: Should my firm have a Web Site?

A: Perhaps. That's not the answer you'd probably expect from a web site building company. We believe a web site should be a financially viable part of the service you provide your clients. That's right...SERVICE... Your website should be an extension of the services you already provide your clients. If you think a web site is a marketing tool that will triple your client base in the next two months, the answer is no.

On the other hand, ask yourself:

  • Do you have Internet access and an e-mail account? Will you in the next 24 months?
  • How many of your clients have Internet access?
  • Do you access the Internet to download tax information or forms from the IRS or State Revenue Departments?
  • Do your software suppliers have software updates online?

If you answered yes to any of the above, then now might be the right time to get a web site. The world is shifting to e-commerce. No one knows how quickly, but it seems certain that to retain and build upon client relationships and to maintain high quality service with your clients you will need a digital presence.

    Q: Do I need to be a programmer to use AFSB?

    A: No. AFSB is as easy to use as a word processing program. Just type the text you want on your page. Click to select your colors and images. It's easy!

    If you would like to customize your site with HTML, you can enter your HTML code instead of text. AFSB gives you the flexibility to manage your site just the way you want.

    Q: What does it cost?

    A: You have the option of paying for the site on an annual or monthly basis.

    Monthly is $25.99
    Annually is $239.00 (a savings of $72.88 over monthly)

    There are no set-up fees or hidden charges. Nor will there ever be. Additional features are available to provide an even more deluxe service to your clients, but the services are optional. You are always in control of the cost of your site. Better still, our service is 100% guaranteed. We have been providing supplies to the Tax and Accounting profession for over 23 years. If you are not completely satisfied with our service you may cancel at any time.

    Q: Are there any additional costs?

    A: NO. You will need to have internet access, but once you have this, the AFSB monthly fee for our basic web site service is the only charge you must pay unless you desire to sign up for custom services.

    Q: How many pages do I get?

    A: As many as you want. AFSB has included all the basic pages of a top quality web site and then we built a function for you to add the pages you wish. The standard pages include:

    Should your site take up an excessive amount of space, we will let you know.

    Q: I already own a Domain (URL), can I use it?

    A: Yes. Within the AFSB Members area there is a place to let us know if you would like your current web address (domain name) transferred to your AFSB site. There is a nominal fee to get this work done for you. You retain ownership of your domain name.

    Q: I want a custom Domain name, can I get one?

    A: Yes. AFSB can manage the licensing of site names. AFSB provides you with a free domain name for your site. You can customize a part of our Domain name so your clients know they are going to your site and not someone else's site. However, AFSB can also reserve a custom domain name for you. There is a nominal fee for this service that includes paying the licensing fee to the name.

    Q: Basic Web Terms Defined.

    A: Domain: The "www." Address of a web site on the Internet. It is the word or phrase you type to get to someone's site.

    URL: Another name for the web site address. See Domain above.

    ISP/ASP: ISP stands for Internet Service Provider (ISP). An ISP is a company that provides access to the Internet. An ISP might also host websites or provide e-mail accounts.

    Q: How often can I change my website?

    A: As often as you want. You are in control and changing your site is as easy as word processing.

    Q: How do I make changes to my site?

    A: Making changes to your site is a snap! AFSB Members simply login to their personal Members area and make whatever changes they want to their site. It's as easy as word processing. There's even a Web Site Wizard that is designed to walk you step-by-step through modifying your site for the first time. AFSB has helpful Help buttons located throughout the Members area that can "steer you clear" of any confusion in the process.
